Gang of women robs woman of $124,000 


A woman said she was yesterday robbed of $124,000 by a group of women who cornered her on the pavement near Demico House in downtown Georgetown.

Ms. Parvati Persaud-Edwards said about six women cut the outside of her bag and carted off the money.

She explained that she was walking along the pavement when one of the women bumped into her.

According to Persaud-Edwards, as she began to apologise the group quickly surrounded her and began accusing her of wanting to own the pavement.


She said she finally excused herself from the group and continued on her way. It was then she discovered her money missing.

Persaud-Edwards said the money was to pay utility bills and take to the bank
